That get your attention? Good.
Now I've got to come clean, dear cyber-surfer: This line may have been Edward Cullen's (aka: OMG- sooo the hottest vampire everrr!) prelude to a kiss, but I am not about to suggest a game of tonsil-hockey.
I just wanted to see if I'd get more traffic to my site by mentioning the name(s) on everyone's lips (and possibly some tattoos). I'm pretty new to this whole internet-as-self-glorification- tool thing, so bear with me.
No disrespect meant to any Twilight fans. I confess to having watched, seen, enjoyed (but not fully understood) the first film, and, had I been born in the 1990's or later, am sure would be out tattooing my supple pubescent skin with any number of fictional names of the vampirical variety. Alas, I'm nearly old enough to be a young adolescent's mamma*, so am well past the age of hormonal hysteria. I'll leave that to the Tweezers (they who wheeze when exposed to Twilight)? Twihards (die-hard Twilight fans)? What do you young ones call yourselves anyway?
Should anyone still feel hard done by as a result of this post, please remember this deeply spiritual adage propounded by such enlightened beings as my homeeyz in da hood: "Don't hate the playa**, hate the game."
*I may call myself the Brightside Kid, but the truth is that, unlike many-a-successful fellow blogger, I am a late bloomer. You know how they put precocious children in special classes? Well, I guess you could say that I'm in a class of my own- I'm something of a postcocious adult.
**Not to be confused with la playa. Who could possibly hate the beach? Apart, of course, from beached whales. They're probably not the biggest fans (no, just the biggest mammals on the planet!). Oh, how I amuse myself :)
***Disclaimer- this post was written entirely in the stream-of-unconsciousness style****. In layman's (or layperson's!) terms, this means that I was at work the whole day, "cruising" through the headache of the century, and am now too jaded to care whether I am making any sense or offending people due to a lack of self-censorship.
****Aspiring writers, psychology students and pretentious twits may be familiar with its more popular cousin, stream-of-consciousness****.
***** For such a scaredy-cat, I sure am a sucker for asterisks! Oh Lord... I have to stop now.
Stay tuned for the next episode of :
